Press release -
Potsdam - A journey through Europe
Palazzi and orangeries, pannekoeken and pelmeni, Tulip Festival and Sinterklaas - the architecture of Potsdam, but also its traditions, reflect the eventful history of the city. And the desires of its rulers. Today, Brandenburg's state capital undoubtedly has many faces. In the course of time, people from all over Europe came to the residence city of the Hohenzollern - and with it their culture and buildings. Potsdam has retained this European spirit to this day.
The PMSG Potsdam Marketing und Service GmbH, responsible for the tourism marketing of Potsdam, takes up this topic in its campaign "Potsdam - A journey through Europe". Potsdam is a destination with a rich cultural heritage, but it also impresses with its many European influences. And in times when international travel is not possible to the usual extent, dreaming away to distant countries is possible even on a small scale.
The marketing campaign kicked off in November 2021 with a press trip with German bloggers, organized by the PMSG. From the Italian Piazza (Alter Markt), the participants embarked on Mediterranean stroll from the Orangery Palace in Sanssouci Park to the Sicilian Garden. The day ended after a culinary tour through the Dutch Quarter in Russia. The visit to the Colony Alexandrowka was rounded off with a dinner at the Café à la Russe in the city center. Swiss romance awaited the bloggers the next day in Klein Glienicke. The highlight of the trip was a gondola ride at the foot of Babelsberg Castle with a view of the Glienicke Bridge. 24 hours - 8 countries. Visiting Potsdam is like travelling through Europe.
A small review of the press trip can be found in the blog “Destination the World”. Also, the PMSG has summarised Potsdam’s influences and architectural quotes on their website.
