Potsdam – A city for everyone
Potsdam offers all its visitors many opportunities to enjoy a relaxing time out. People with disabilities, families with strollers and elderly people will find a wealth of leisure options. In 2023, PMSG Potsdam Marketing und Service GmbH will once again focus on barrier-free offerings in Potsdam. Whether a visit to one of the numerous castles and museums, a boat trip on the Havel River or an overnight stay in a comfortable room, you can freely experience Potsdam according to the motto "sans souci", without worries.
Recommendations for guests
Get to know the animal world interactively in the Natural History Museum, immerse yourself in the greenery of the city in the Volkspark, or enjoy the feeling of a tropical paradise in the Biosphäre – the city on the Havel offers a wealth of barrier-free activities for families. Culture lovers can also experience the UNESCO World Heritage city individually, for example on an exhibition visit to the Museum Barberini, on history trails in Cecilienhof Country House or even in the traditional sauna of the sports and leisure complex "blu - Das Sport- und Freizeitbad". European-inspired architecture, a well-designed park landscape and an eventful history merge to this day in Brandenburg's state capital.
Discover the city at your own pace
If you'd rather explore the city's animated history at your own pace, just follow the digital city tours in the Potsdam City Guide App. It can be quickly and easily downloaded on your own phone or tablet – completely free of charge. The app even includes a city tour for visually impaired guests.

Potsdam is host town of the Special Olympic World Games
From 17th to 25th of June 2023, the Special Olympics World Games will take place in Berlin and thus for the first time in Germany. As the world's largest inclusive sporting event, Potsdam will have the honour of hosting Australian athletes and their families. It will present itself to the approximately 100 delegation members as a city not only with many cultural and historical activities, but also as an exiting place for sports. The guests will be provided with training and exercise facilities in preparation for the subsequent games in Berlin. As the largest municipal inclusion project in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Host Town Program plays a key role in shaping inclusive living spaces and social participation for people with intellectual disabilities.
